In last couple of weeks we have had a lot of requests for Battalion 2v2, 3v3 ladders, cups, but aswel questions about some unclear ladder rules. We've decided to fix all of this at same time, so here we go.
As already stated, previous ruleset had some serious issues with round limits and when ladder got restarted to be in sync with AU/NA two maps rule simply lost sense. The new rules introduce all ladder matches to be played over one map only (BO1), and follow MR12 logic. As usual, make sure you check the full ruleset before playing, but here's a gist of it:
3. Team and player settings
Only players who are registered in a team on CyberGamer can play in ladder matches and they can only play with the name (or very similar) they registered in a roster of that team. For transparency and eaiser handling of the matches all team members are required to have team tag next to their own name during the match. Teams or individuals who are found violating this constantly will be dealt on admin's discretion.
6. Before the match
Entering match cancel manually is not possible, if both teams fail to enter a score, the match will be auto-cancelled after some time.
8. Match rules
Ladder matches are played on a single map (BO1). After accepting the challenge and scheduling the match, team captains need to VETO maps on a match page until there is only one map remaining - that is the one that should be played. Since the team that vetoed the map last decides which map will be played, their opponents are to pick a side which they play on. If the team is not online their vetos will be made randomly by the website.
Each map has a maximum limit of 24 rounds (MR12). You may not leave a match until one team has reached 13 rounds in total or teams have drawn at 12 rounds each. Teams that have won may leave a server if they wish to. In case of the winning team leaving in a middle of the match, the remaining rounds will be added to the losers score.
The default team size is specific to the ladder you're competiting in.
• B44 WT Ladder has a minimum of 4 players, and maximum of 10 players per team.
• B44 WT 3v3 Ladder has a fixed size of 3 players per team.
• B44 WT 2v2 Ladder has a fixed size of 2 players per team.
Our first Battalion cup will take place next weekend. Below are infos about it:
Start: 10/03/2018 18:00
Team size: 5v5
Minimum teams: 16
Maximum teams: 64
Type: Double Elimination (BO1)
We're looking for some streamers for the cup, if you're interested, contact one of admins. Also if there'll be enough interested for these kind of cups, we'll consider doing them monthly, maybe even weekly.
Instead of doing random cups, you should focus on making a decent League system for Battalion 1944. We see cups every saturday and sunday. With the game being in it's current state, you would do a lot better with a League system (because your cup will contest FastFrags, meaning no point in hosting a cup on sunday). The League system that you have right now, is shit and it's not tempting to play.
