[Ladder/League] Q: How does the ELO system in ladders work?

Just like any other ELO system, ours works in the exact same format. You can read up on ELO systems in this Wikipedia article.

Some further information regarding the CyberGamer ELO system:

  • A K-Index of 64 is used, starting rating of 1400 and score distribution of 400 is used.
  • Usually you can challenge teams that are within 250 of your ELO Rating above or below.
  • Teams within the top 10 can challenge any team within the top 30 regardless of ELO difference.

[Ladder/League] Q: How does the sports system in leagues work?

The sports system works just like any major football league out there! You are awarded 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Round difference matters in this mode, so make sure you don't give away rounds as this could see you fall below a competing team on the same number of points!

[Ladder/League] Q: How can I see who else is searching for a match?

On your Smart Bar you'll notice the 'Match/Scrim Finder' tab towards the left hand side. Clicking this will load up all the teams currently searching for a ladder or practice match. You can filter out results using the filter drop-down towards the top right hand side, and you can add your team to the list by clicking the 'View Options' button over on the top left hand side.

In order to organise a match, simply click on a 'Contact' and this will start an instant message conversation with the player searching from the team. Please note that the rank is sometimes outdated as this does not update immediately.

[Ladder/League] Q: How can I challenge another team?

In order to challenge another team, you'll first want to see who else is searching for a match. Once you've loaded the 'Match/Scrim Finder', you can begin to organise a match with another team. Here's a simple step-by-step guide to get you started:

[Ladder/League] Q: What are TURBO times?

The TURBO times are those times that you can select in order to play the match within the next few hours. The times listed are often spaced 15 minutes apart.

You can, if you so wish, select a time and date in the future to pre-schedule a match, though this is not recommended as you'll be required to ensure all members are online.

[Ladder/League] Q: How do I leave a ladder or league?

To leave a ladder or league, simply go to Your Team Page > Edit Team > General Settings, and click the 'Leave Ladder' button. [Account] Q: How do I set my STEAM ID or GUID?

To intially setup your Steam ID or GUID, it can be done via a variety of ways.

Firstly, when you play your first match or PUG on an official CyberGamer server, your Steam ID/GUID will automatically be collected and synced with your CyberGamer account on the website.

    The following games are supported:
  • Call of Duty 2
  • Call of Duty 4
Secondly, you can manually enter your Steam ID/GUID via your profile. To do this, go to Edit Profile > Profile, Games & Forums > Game IDs. From here, scroll down to the respective field you would like to enter, and enter it correctly. Once completed, save, and you'll be good to go!

If you really need to have your Steam ID and/or GUID changed, please open a Support Ticket, and an Admin will be able to change it for you. Please keep in mind that you'll need a valid reason to change it, and in some cases, changes will be denied. We prefer that this does not happen often as there is no way to verify that the Steam ID/GUID you are providing is actually yours, whilst the automatic syncing cannot be faked.

[Account] Q: I've added an portrait image, why doesn't it show up in the forums?

Your portrait image, that is the image that displays in the top left hand corner of your profile page is different to your forum avatar. To add a forum avatar, go to your profile page, click Edit Profile > Profile, Games & Forums > Forums and Display, and from there you'll be able to upload your forum avatar.

[Team] Q: Why do I have to create a new team for another ladder for the same game?

Due to the way the CyberGamer system works, your team can only be signed-up to one game type.

For example, Call of Duty 4 has the following types:

  • cod4 - the main 5v5 ladder (as well as the old CGi/CGm leagues)

The other option is to head on over to your match page, and on the left hand side copy the number alongside 'Match ID'.

Click here to view the image

[Match] Q: What does the expected outcome mean?

Each match shows an expected outcome based upon your teams ELO rank and the opposing teams ELO rank. The team with the highest number shows that the system expects that team to win. If both teams have an equal outcome, it indicates the system expects a draw. Whilst unexpected wins may occur, this system is very useful for correctly tipping matches!

[Match] Q: How do I enter in the score for the match?

Once your match has finished, you'll be required to enter in your score. To do this, head to your match and click 'Submit Scores' button on top of the screen.

Click here to view the image

If your scores don't match, the match will be entered into a dispute. Equally, if you don't enter in a score and the other team does, the system will automatically resolve your match after a small period of time.

[Match] Q: I want to dispute my match. How can I?

After your match, if you want to request the teams demo or get the attention of an admin, you must raise a dispute. Start by heading on over to your match page and clicking 'Submit Scores' button on top of the screen.
