People that say ''720p blabla''

1080p doesn't Always make the quality better lol...

Try playing a game on 720p, let me know if the quality is the same. Obviously, the difference is for people with high res monitors, which is, everyone.
Unless you talk about people who think rendering a 720p footage in 1080p makes it better, those are just brain damaged, you ignore them.

i am rendering 720p in 1080p with sharpen effect apllied, and i'm very convinced it does make a difference. at least if you apply fullscreen while watching a video.

i dunno about 720/1080p but i m sure that rendering in 1440p (upscaling) does make your video look better on youtube because youtube just processes your video with better settings then

720p and 1080 has difference as well. Mazu recorded my lanhighlight in 720p and rendered it to 1080 and it actually has waaaaaay better quality than any of my 720p stuff ever.

Depends on what resolution you record, jesus... Just telling that if you record something in 720 and you render it in 1080p that it doesnt make any difference.

no it doesn't, i guess that's what kalabokk meant with 720p and 1080p. i record in 1280x1024/960 (usually meant for 720p) and render in 1920x1080, and imo it increases the quality a lot. (if youre watching a video at full screen)

Do you talk about youtube quality or just the video quality of the file on your pc?

It shouldn't really make any difference for the latter but since youtube codecs are weird sometimes I wouldn't be surprised if that actually worked there

Afaik YT has higher bitrates for 1080p therefore the 720p scaled up to 1080p makes a better quality.
I'm not sure though.
But check this:

That was recorded in 720p then upscaled to 1080 and it looks way better than any of my 720p stuff:

But again, I'm not entirely sure why.
